   Hey everyone, I am curious if anyone has any ideas for a singer/songwriter who wants to publish songs individually for sale. I would ultimately like to be able to showcase each song alone/individually as I release them.

   I am wanting to take a different approach to music and get rid of the whole CD idea and just sell songs as individual records. Showcasing them on a blog and displaying it for the listener to sample then purchase.

   Curious if anyone has any cool themes/ideas for this, or has seen or knows someone who already does this and could be up to help as I try to put this together. I would really appreciate any ideas, or suggustions anyone may have.

   Hi Nicholas, I would suggest taking a look at the WP e-Commerce plugin. The basic plugin is free, but there is commercial Audio Player module that might be of interest to you.

   I'm not sure about themes, that could depend on what appeals to you, but I would be on the look out for themes that have a good promo spot that you could feature your songs in, this should improve the amount of visitors that check them out.

   If you do live shows, and aren't already using it, I'd highly recommend GigPress!

   I have been checking out the WP e-Commerce plugin and it looks pretty sweet. I am just no going to have a ton of things to sell, so I am not sure if its a bit too much.

   I am a med student and do music as a hobby and will just being posting songs as I get them done when I have breaks. So I'm not going to have merch or anything of that sort, just the songs and the stories behind them.

   As for theme, the idea for my music is to have every song I release have its own page and theme which goes with the song. So basically I am looking for someone affordable to be able to design each song's page as I release them.

   So as far as a layout I am open as to how to place items on the page and display the player and so forth.
